What does the innovation consist of?

COBO Spa (design, development and supply of global solutions and integrated systems for the off-highway vehicle market) acquired Ollar Sensors Srl, active in the development of sensors for automation in industrial and mobile hydraulics, in 2023.

The deal has enabled COBO to further strengthen itself in sensor technology applied to the off-highway industry, a strand that is expected to see significant development in the coming years also in relation to current megatrends, for example,electrification and autonomous driving of vehicles, by gaining the availability of innovative and effective solutions developed by Ollar Sensors.

The incorporated product portfolio includes a wide range of solutions related to position sensing, aimed at complementing COBO’s already wide range of products, solutions and systems for its target market.

 

Specifically, the families initially introduced cover the following functions:

  • Inclination sensors for frame flatness or movable arm position, adaptable to static and dynamic applications.
  • Inertial sensors for condition monitoring.
  • Single-turn and absolute multi-turn rotary sensors for relative positioning of machine frame parts and tools.
  • Rotary sensors for driving synchronous electric motors.
  • Linear sensors to be placed inside the cylinder.
  • Proximity sensors and obstacle detection using ultrasonic and radar technologies
